The Pharmaceutical Engineering program at Tianjin University of Technologywas established in 1999 and admitted its first undergraduate students in 2000. In 2010, it was authorized to confer master’s degrees in Pharmaceutical Engineering.In 2011, it was approved as a Tianjin Brand Undergraduate Program, and in 2020, it was further approved as a Tianjin First-Class Undergraduate Program. And in 2022, it successfully passed the Engineering Education Accreditation.

Guided by engineering education principles，the majorfocus on cultivating students’engineering practice and innovation capabilities. Drawing on high-quality teaching and research platforms—including the school and college’s national engineering education practice base,provincial and ministerial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers, Tianjin key laboratories, as well as internship and training bases—the program has established an applied talent cultivation system that closely integrates engineering education with industrial practice, deeply merges theoretical instruction with hands-on trainingand fosters mutual reinforcement between scientific research and talent development.

This major aims to cultivatehigh-caliber applied professionalswithsoundprofessional ethics, strong sense of social responsibility and innovative spirit. Students willacquire a systematic grounding in the fundamental theories and skills of pharmacy, chemistry, biology, and chemical engineering and technologyandwill developthe ability to analyze and solve complex pharmaceutical engineering problems.Upon graduation, they will be prepared for careers in scientific research, technology development, process and engineering design, production organization, management, and services within the pharmaceutical and related fields.
